Painter, actor and scenographer are some of the many different facets of Sergio Saccomandi.
Born in Italy in 1946, he’s, among other things, Chair of the Art School of Turin.
His artistic portfolio includes more than 60 solo exhibitions in Italy, shows around the world, and countless prizes and awards.
He is considered a multifaceted artist, able to work in the entertainment business as a director, actor and set designer. The three roles combine one essence, they are three different ways to represent his artistic path towards the truth.
His visions are different, evocative, and meaningful. His oneiric scenes disorient the observer with their illusions. Saccomandi’s iconography induces the viewers to scrutinise the scene in search of the meaningful detail one misses at first glance. Like an anchor, a fix point to orient oneself, in a shifting world of delusion.
The struggle and the loneliness of the mankind in front of the adversities materialize in the theatrical shapes, in the images of daily life transforming into theatre itself, in the landscape evolved into scenography: it’s the theatre of life itself.
